Hello friends! How are you! I hope you’re well and keeping safe. With this worldwide pandemic on our hands, it is truly a difficult time for all of us. Some people I know have lost their jobs and are struggling to stay afloat. Here in the Philippines, freelancing groups are growing in numbers as many are hoping to find a job despite the current situation. Many Filipinos are trying to get hired from multiple platforms like Upwork.com and onlinejobs.ph just to name a few. I decided to make this guide since I have been blessed to be hired by two amazing employers in the last couple of months. I wanted to share my experience with fellow beginners like me. If you’re an expert freelancer then this probably would be old news to you 🙂 But I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on my freelancing journey.

Why did I decide to try freelancing?

Just like with any story, we’re going to start at the beginning. Don’t worry, it’s not going to be from the time I was born. Just from January of 2020 🙂 You see, I have my New Year’s resolution. And one of them is that this year, I will be more financially stable. I’m a single mom of two kids and I don’t have any savings. Which is scary. I sent my first application on exactly January 1st of this year. I was really committed guys. Haha but apparently pure conviction alone will not be get me the job. I realized later on, that in some cases, no one even read my applications.
